Event cap policy

Each Bloodhound plan includes a monthly event cap. An event is one captured signal, a JS error, a Core Web Vitals sample, a checkout funnel step, or a Web Pixel page-view.

Monthly caps

  • Free: 10,000 events / month
  • Pro: 100,000 events / month
  • Business: 500,000 events / month
  • Enterprise: unlimited (custom)

What happens at 80%

When you reach 80% of your monthly cap, Bloodhound shows a yellow banner in the dashboard and emails the shop owner. You keep ingesting at full speed. No data is dropped. This is your warning to either upgrade or wait for the cycle to reset.

What happens at 100%

At 100% the ingest endpoint starts returning 429 Too Many Requests for that shop. New events are dropped at the edge, your storefront is never affected because the pixel fails silently. Existing data stays available in the dashboard for the full retention window of your plan.

The cap resets at the start of your next Shopify billing cycle. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the new cap takes effect immediately and we resume ingest within ~60 seconds.

How to upgrade

From Settings → Billing in the Bloodhound dashboard. The upgrade is prorated by Shopify and applies immediately. See the pricing page for plan details.

Why we cap

Bloodhound is honest pricing. We could throttle at 100% silently and let you discover the gap a week later, plenty of monitoring tools do that. We do not. You see exactly when you cap, and you choose what to do about it.
